Meta Muse
What is Meta Muse?
Meta Muse is Meta's personal assistant, built into the apps most people already have open: WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram. You message it the way you message a friend and it answers, looks things up, drafts replies and increasingly takes actions on your behalf. It is the same core bet as Instinct and Norma, made by the company with the largest messaging footprint in the world.

What Muse does well
- Distribution. It is already inside the thread you use every day, on the largest messaging network there is. Nothing to install, nobody to invite.
- Speed on small questions. Quick answers, summaries, translations and drafting inside a conversation are fast and good.
- Social context. Muse understands the group chat it lives in, which makes plan-making inside a thread feel natural.
- Price. It is free at the point of use, bundled into apps you already pay nothing for.
Where it gets thinner
- Follow-through. Muse is strongest at answering. Multi-day tasks that need chasing, calling and verifying are not its core.
- Data. Meta's business is advertising. What you tell an assistant inside Meta's apps sits inside Meta's data estate.
- Availability. Feature rollout is US-first, with Europe behind, staggered and partial.
- Control. There is no single, dependable rule about when it will act for you and when it will ask first.
How Norma differs
Norma is the same interface idea, run under different rules. She lives in iMessage and WhatsApp, works in the EU from day one, asks before she sends or spends, never reports something as done until she has verified it, and never uses your data to train models. Access is a public line with a new batch every Friday, in order.
