What is Instinct AI?

Instinct is an invite-only personal AI assistant that users reach by texting or calling it, with no separate app. It connects to email, messaging, calendar, screen, audio and location, and completes tasks such as booking travel, handling email and managing reservations. It was built by Noah Shinn, a former Sierra research scientist, under Spear Street Technology in San Francisco, and launched publicly in August 2026. By early September it had raised about $350 million, including a $250 million Series B at a $2.5 billion valuation led by Index Ventures and Benchmark.

How it works

You join a waitlist or get an invite from a member. Once in, you text Instinct on iMessage or WhatsApp or call it. It runs on persistent cloud infrastructure and uses a phone and computer the way a person would.
